Throwback To Cousin's Baby-Shower

We were in the UK for about 10 months before going to Holland, as V had got a project there, in the UK as well. (See, perks of being the wife to a Software Engineer). In between these two visits, N and I were in India for about 4 months.
Mostly, N and I stayed at Angamaly, a town in the Ernakulam district, Kerala. That’s where my parents live, my hometown it is. We are surrounded by our relatives and it’s always a happy place for me. Though my cousins are all out of town, either after marriage or for their studies, job etc, I can always count on this girl Anjaly, my cousin’s wife, who’s as friendly as any other cousin of mine. She was getting into the last trimester of her pregnancy then. We have a traditional way of baby-shower done on the 7th month of pregnancy. It’s a very simple celebration with very close relatives. (You might be knowing if you have read my very first blog post). So I have been invited to Anjaly’s baby shower and I decided to make it a bit colourful with some decorations and give the mommy-to-be, a little surprise, of course with the help of the daddy-to-be.

So, for Anjaly’s baby shower, I decided to make it a bit colourful with some decorations and give the mommy-to-be, a little surprise, of course with the help of her husband.
As we were unaware of the baby’s gender, I planned the normal “Pink & Blue” theme. So everything had to be of the colours white, pink and blue. I bought some balloons from a local store, also made a garland using some craft papers which I already had. And then decorated the hall with help of my aunt, Rani.

I also made a “mommy-to-be” sash and a “daddy-to-be” corsage for the upcoming parents, to make it a bit more special.

Everything was kept secret from the “mommy to be”. Her husband had arranged a cake too. I am glad, she was delighted and surprised to see the whole thing.☺
PS: This baby shower happened long back and she delivered a handsome little boy on July 23rd, 2016.
